I think our amazing city should look to Burlington, Vt. While I was there last year I was downtown and there's a pedestrian mall with chain stores that attracted thousands of people on a Friday night. the area was filled with lots of restaurants and galleries.
Also, everyone in Troy should embrace the colleges in our city. College students can really help out if we all work together.
Personally, I think the atrium should be torn down and replaced with mixed use buildings with storefronts on the lower floors and apartments on top. The parking should be put underground because the atrium sticks out like an ugly sore thumb.
Troy Plaza should be redeveloped also into another real shopping center and be a waste of precious space with an amazing view of our region.
