There are already organizations like the "Friends of Barker Park" (http://barkerpark.org/) and "Friends of Prospect Park" (http://www.timesunion.com/communities/prospectpark/) which do this sort of thing to some extent. I suppose that of ongoing donation for clean-up in exchange for a sponsorship sign might be useful for smaller parks around the city that aren't going to attract their own fund-raising organizations.

I really LOVE this idea. In fact, my wife mentioned this to me as an idea to post a month or two ago.

Knickerbacker park in Lansingburgh for instance is awesome, and it could be SO MUCH nicer, really a beautiful park if it were just kept up better. Basic grooming around the entrance, some paint and repairs here and there and it could really be a beautiful park.

I'd love to start a project to work on getting this going. Let me know if you guys (or others) are interested in helping out, and I'll add you to the project team.

I was at Knickerbacker Park today & it looks like the pool house & back side of the pool were painted. It looks better.
